Arts & Health Gippsland
Arts & Health Gippsland is a new venture by Bec Vandyk, the artist who created the giant sculpture of a placenta with a team of Gippsland women, who knitted their way through 900 tshirts in the making of the work. Currently, Arts & Health Gippsland works with community groups and NDIS clients to facilitate the use of art-making as a way to improve wellbeing and social connections. Bec teaches different techniques of art making, creating a mindful space within which to 'check in' with physical, emotional, and social health. Bec is also managing the 'Live WELL-COME Share' project, funded by VicHealth, that will see 10 creative groups work on individual art programs over 2021 and 2021 in Baw Baw Shire.
